Is it Safe to use Saran Wrap???

According to some medical point of views that, placing or covering the skin with a saran wrap after applying a numbing cream makes our skin un able to breathe, that may lead to seizures, irregular heart beats and even death. By the way, in this way of covering the skin after you had apply the numbing creams makes the medicine effective. But why It is also a fatal and can cause side effects?

Here are some cause why the covering of the skin with saran wrap is not effective in some way:

• First of all, maybe the person doesn't consult to his physician, this is the most commonly problem, because in some point, even if you don't know some what you might be allergic into something or maybe you have a skin disorder that can immediately irritate your skin. It is proper that first thing you should consult a physician.
• The weather might also cause a problem, when the weather is hot, and your skin is covered with a saran wrap, this may cause extreme heat into your skin that may cause the skin unable to breathe and unease, and makes the cream become oily and causing the skin to secrete sebums that makes the cream incompatible with the skin.
• The saran wrap covering the skin and cream is too tight. In this way the cream cannot regulate with the skin.
• Maybe the instruments, hands, surroundings and even the saran wrap is unsanitize.
• Lastly, maybe because the tattoo artist is not yet that familiar about the product you want to use (numbing cream) or even you are.

How to be safe:

• The patient must be cautious when using numbing creams.
• The patient must follow the instructions of his physician.
• Using a numbing cream with a consent or should be under medical supervision.
• Apply small amount and following instructions.
• Check out the time, do not leave it that long or that short, follow the time.
• Avoid taking the cream if you have a heart conditions.
• If you are planning for different treatments like tattoo, body piercing, minor surgical procedures and hair removal (laser), do not be afraid to ask for a help to your trusted physicians.

Choosing a Numbing Cream

Let me take you guys from my observing of any typical numbing cream, Actually I was making a research on which numbing cream shall be using on my new tattoo, I planned it on my upper right arm, It is my first time to do it, so I have to be exactly mind set, this are some of my researched. I had found out that numbing creams are differentiated according to the product itself, what it is contain? how long? how it works? how much it cost? more important on how the quality the product is.

What It Contains:

Lidocaine, Prilocaine, and Benzocaine, these are local anesthetics which is commonly used to reduce or relieve pain and discomforts. These are important ingredients that a numbing cream does have, but a cream should one or two of them mix, because it can harm the individual if overdoses. Drnumb contains 5% lidocaine which makes it solid and non-oily and water-based, while some contains 5% lidocaine and Prilocaine mixed(2.5% each) which made the product oil-in-water, meaning to say some product are oily that can cause errors on tattooing or in some surgical procedures, it can slip the needle or it can interfere the ink of the tattoo.

How Long It Takes:

Numbing creams are useful agent in some treatment especially tattooing. The cream must not delay or make any trouble in the activity. At first, you need to apply a thin amount of the cream in the skin surface area. You must wait for about 30 minutes while covering it with saran wrap, this application is common in every numbing cream (30 min's wait). Then get tattooed, In this ways numbing creams differentiated, how long does it takes. An average tattoo can last long for about 2-3 hours, Drnumb cream can last up to 2 hours and 30 minutes, while some can last long for about 30 minutes, this is can cause delay and not appropriate for tattooing. A 30 grams cream should cover up a half a chest.

A numbing cream is a topical anesthetics that is used to reduce or refrain from sufferings of pain and discomfort from a tattoo, piercing and some minor surgery(without open wounds). It must be safe and does not swell or irritate the skin. A topical numbing cream works by blocking nerves from transmitting painful impulses to the brain. After applying a thick (quarter inch) layer of the cream to the area to be tattooed, cover the cream with saran wrap for at least 30 minutes to give enough time to ensure a painless steel tattoo. Once the air tight bandage has been removed, the skin will remain completely numb for at least two hours. It can be use in tattooing and body piercing,hair removal treatment, and minor surgical procedures.

The numbing cream must be approved or allowed by the Food And Drugs Administration. It must be safe and has no side effects. And It must be medically proven and reasonable priced.
